PROJECT C.U.R.E. NEEDS ASSESSMENT TRIP

At the end of June 2018, four health facilities supported by Europe Aid Foundation were the subject of a needs assessment administered by Project C.U.R.E. (Commission on Urgent Relief and Equipment).  Project C.U.R.E. serves to identify, solicit, collect, sort and distribute medical supplies and services according to needs across the world.  In doing so, they have reached patients, families and children in 130 countries.

The comprehensive needs assessment was administered at four clinics in Kiev city Ukraine: The municipal uncommercial undertaking Kyiv City Medical Center «Academy of Human Health” of the executive body of the Kyiv City Council (KMDA); Kyiv City Clinical Hospital No.2; Subsidiary enterprise «Kyiv city health resort balneo-hospital of trade unions of Ukraine»; State Rehabilitation Institution «All-Ukrainian Center for Complex Rehabilitation for Persons with Disabilities».

Through the assessment we were able to focus on expert opinion of what equipment and supplies was necessary to better improve the healthcare services provided in our Charity Health Project. All the facilities requested medical equipment, such as O2 Concentrator or tank, Doppler, and infant scales, as their top need from the Project C.U.R.E. team, represented in Ukraine by Bruce Schroffel, Board Member.  While their requests were duly noted in the assessment, Bruce listed much more than just delivery equipment, with equipment needs ranging from sphygmomanometers to irrigation kits. The assessment served as an excellent opportunity to pinpoint the strengths and weaknesses of these four health facilities.

We are incredibly appreciate the Project C.U.R.E. team and look forward to using this analysis to help strengthen healthcare in Ukraine.
